Phantom 2 LED flight lights won't illuminate

Recent purchase of Phantom 2 and battery seems to work fine with all four led lights illuminating and with 2+ second press, four lights illuminate and then red button light illuminates and flashes five times. LED flight lights do not illuminate. What am I doing wrong?

You mean you can't get the phantom to turn on?

To turn on: you do a one second press take your finger off and then press again right away until the phantom lights up.

So - press... pause...press again.
