Phantom 2 and H3 3D won't initialize

I have been building my Phantom 2 with the H3 3D gimbal this morning. I've been following the DJI videos on Youtube.

At the end of the instal video for the gimbal, it says turn on the Phantom and wait for the gimbal to initialize.

I've done this, but nothing happens.

Now, the only thing I have changed in comparison to the videos is I've installed a GoPro 4, rather than a 3.

Is this the mistake, or is there something else I should look for?

Are you saying that when the gimbal is plugged in and you power on the Phantom, the gimbal just sits there and doesn't move at all?

Yes, but the Phantom doesn't light up either. Thisd leads me to a thought that it is the battery.

It shows fully charged.

Tried it again this morning, and this time I got it to start by giving it a shake. Gimbal operated fine, and the bird started. So I turned it off. Tried to start it again, and nothing.

I'm now guessing there is an intermittent connection inside.

Do I take it apart and look, or send it back to B&H
