personal vision videos

Wildcatter, just another use for the PV. I know what you mean about Youtube, I have the same problem.

What kind of machine is that? Looks like it is cutting wood.

8 mph wind, 6 satellites, default camera settings and auto pilot.... http://youtu.be/Z5BirT-PX6Q I don't know why but I noticed that the videos I post on youtube suck compared to the originals. I didn't do any editing. the originals are much more clear and crisp .

Then go to vimeo ;)

That is a woodmizer portable ban mill. I bring home power poles from work and turn them into awesome cedar projects. I do a lot of custom cedar decks and cabins.

I had a superb flight this morning. Cold air, blue sky, flat calm on the surface. Took the Vision out to an iron age hill fort not too far away (Blewburton Hill, made around 400 BC or earlier). I've just had a go and doing some "arty" editing on it - well as arty as my talent and YouTube's editor will allow. Towards the end there's a bonus encounter with a curious Red Kite - very good practice at following a moving target with your camera! I found having the radar screen up helped me get the basic orientation right for catching the next pass of this lovely bird.

Heres a flight I did at red rocks trail in colorado. posted a couple other videos on my you tube channel "steve smart takes flight"
Im still afraid to fly too faraway even though the thing has that handy auto go home feature, anyone else use it? Is it pretty reliable?
pretty calm day 8mph winds with gusts up to 25mph. The phantom vision handles very nicely and the video is very smooth especially after the video is stabilized in youtube. I plan to edit the videos together with music, but for now I'm just putting up some quick vids of flights. Enjoy the footage.

Have you pressed that gear looking icon on the bottom right corner on the youtube video? That should bump up the vid to hd. Won't look as nice as the original vid but still a great picture. I thought the picture looked fine once I put the hd setting on 1080p. The video is awesome btw, it's like you got your own camera man.

Wow, you people all seem to have much nicer places to fly than me. I live in a backstreet in London which is not very interesting at all. Mind you I do enjoy looking at all the great places you fly

Quick question for those editing Vision footage before uploading to youtube... what are you rendering the results into to get the best quality out of YouTube? AVI, MP4? Settings to use? I'm new this side of things, so any help on how to get best quality out of my edited footage appreciated...

Me too... :D http://youtu.be/aAACefhrPdw

well, I am new in the whole aerial photography, my P2 is the first quadcopter. its really easy to use, however I was little bit extra careful in my flight. Video quality is very good, picture quality is even better, I am waiting for RAW.

tell me what do u think about my first video, minimal editing :)

@ Pull_Up & Itmustbemagic

great videos showing our English countryside off to the max.
Some nice flying there - these things can sure shift at full tilt.
can't wait for the lens filters to be available, both of these would have benefited from a ND filter
Maybe one could have benefitted from some music and the other would have benefited from a visit from a native inhabitant!

Yeah, YouTube point blank refuses to add some of it's own royalty-free music - I've tried 7 times! Now I've found a video editor I can (vaguely) use I may just do it all offline, next time - I notice you can download royalty-free stuff from YouTube now to use offline.

http://youtu.be/ksq5fqBlXOY I don't know what I am doing wrong but these videos look like crap after running through youtube. The original video from my vision is much better quality.

All videos look like garbage when they first appear on youtube. Just checked out your vid and noticed I can only bump up to 480P or something, not 1080p. This typically happens when the video is uploading, once it is fully uploaded it should look much better and gives you options to improve the video via color correction and auto balance to smooth the picture. Granted after all that it won't be a supreme picture like you see on the raw file but looks decent especially if you watch through a phone. Also some phantoms are the previous gen that you mount a go pro to. This could be a better option for people because it's cheaper but the cost can come up once you invest in a proper mounting system. This can be nice if you want to go all out on a really nice camera.

I have been uploading the raw mp4 file straight to youtube and have been satisfied with it, but then again it could be because I remember the headache youtube use to be before it became what it is now. Im sure somebody will figure out how to upload the best quality from a phantom.

My flight this morning, going a bit farther and higher, baby steps!
