part identification?

Hi, I have a non-Vision Phantom 2, and I'm wondering--when looking at the left rear landing leg, what is the little "fishing line" looking thing? The wire is taped onto the leg, but the thin fishing line piece at the end is sort of sticking out a bit, and I'd like to tape it to the leg (I know, it's a minor thing, but it bugs me, I have OCD!), but I'm just not sure what it is.

Thanks. Can I tape the last bit of it to the leg, then, or is that last half-inch of the antenna supposed to "fly free in the wind", as it were?
