Parachute alternative

    Suppose each arm of the P3 had an airfoil design that would send it spinning like crazy on an uncontrolled decent, like a maple seed, to slow it down?

    That would always affect it in regular flight and you would be fighting it all the time to fly straight.

    Will not help. Learning to fly is a great alternative to parachute

    To be fair you can be the best pilot in the world and still have electronic/mechanical failures.
