Guys: I would like to take a shot flying over a pond, perhaps 75 feet off the ground.

A little nervous as I have read in the manual some of the flight systems don't do well over water.

Any advice from those who have done this would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you do your preflight checks, and your equipment is ready to fly, there is nothing to fear brother.
The only hardware that may not work over water is the positioning sensors; there may not be enough of a contrast in pattern for the vehicle to recognize and hold position. I've flown miles out at sea from a moving boat, over rivers, waterfalls, lakes, streams, and harbors. The Phantom doesn't care :)

i can confirm, the phantom barometer holds perfect position above water. just dont go below 1 meter :p

Today i flew for the 1st time over a big, over a mile long lake.

Like Gundolarry said. Follow your preflight check list.

I was nervious, there tall trees around the area too.

Make sure set the go-home height is set over 46.0248m = 151 feet

So if it goes Auto go home and your worried abot trees, but look at trees too.

And make sure you use a feet to meters converter to know how to set the meter

I set mine to 122 Meter thinking it would be under 400 feet

But was not:
It was...
400.2624671916ft

I step down to 121 meters

The result:
396.9816272966ft

There was a significant amount of wind and the P4 drifted on all 3 runs but it didn't end up in the drink.
Thanks for the advice guys.
