I have a P4. I have a prop balancer. The balancer requires that it's shaft runs through the prop. So how to balance a P4 prop?

Thanks.

What kind of prop balancer do you have?

I am planning to use this concept after sanding roughness off new ones ..

Geez, Thanks. Simple and elegant, just the way I like it.

That one is not going to work.

Try the Du-Bro 499 or the SpeedyTM prop balancer. Both come with a prop balancing rod that fits the P4 props.

Here's a good how-to on balancing props:

I made one of those and it didn't work so well. The point on the nail that goes into the center of the prop might rest a little off center so the balance is off as it is tilted not being centered. The setup msinger suggests works better.

I found a piece of spring steel rod at the hobby shop that fits snug into the prop hole and just roll it on a level tin can which seems to work too. One could put a taper on the rod too with a drill and a file.
