P3S repair Questions

Had a unfortunate collision with a tall building and lost the camera. Since the camera is most of the cost of the standard I elected to hang on to it and try and fix. I replaced the wifi antennae and their associated black and grey wires, but am unable to pair the controller to the p3. Keep in mind no camera is attached. The p3 powers up ok, and the bind switch flashes red when pushed, and the controller beeps, but no pair/bind. Circuit board and all wiring appear intact, and even the shell itself is usable.
Does anyone have any ideas on what area to look for issues and or replacement parts for this issue?

Your problem is the fact the camera is not attached. It requires the camera to pair with the controller. I just replaced my camera and it had to be connected to pair up the controller.

Correct, but you can't link the remote without a working gimbal.

The gimbal also houses the RC link hardware in it. Without the gimbal attached, you won't be able to connect.
