P3P Gimbal 8-Pin Cable to MC

Crashed my P3P, the Gimbal 8-Pin Cable to MC was sheered off. I have the replacement cable, but I cannot thread it through the body of the Phantom like it was originally installed. Has anyone else solved this issue? or do you remove one of connection ends, wire the cable through the body, and then reattach the connection end? I would rather avoid the latter, as I have no experience reattaching connection ends..

Just saw this post. I bought a P3S that had this same problem. Though it has been several months i will still tell you what I did in case someone needs the info . I had to remove the USB plug in first. It is not easy to reinstall the usb plug but a little patience helps a lot. Also make sure you thread the correct end through. Could wind up threading the wrong end through and have to start over.
