P3P controller won't update to 1.8.

The app shows current fw version I'd 1.6 and says I need to update. I choose update, but only updates to the same level. Successfully downloaded 1.8 from Dji.com to micro sad and stand alone usb. Tried to update controller with both, but neither was successful. Attaching directly to aircraft still didn't update the controller. Same micro sd was used to successfully update the aircraft. Would like help with proper way to update the controller, please.

I had the same issue and to update it I plugged the controller into my iPhone and opened the DJI app. It said I needed to update so I selected it and it downloaded and updated through my phone. That's the only way it worked for me.

Tried that, but doesn't update to 1.8. Says it updated to the latest version, but still showing 1.6

It appears that my ipad2 doesn't show the controller needs an update. Hmmm... My iPhone 6s @ 9.3.1 still showing I need to update. Curious now, should the controller fw match the aircraft fw?
