p3p auto takeoff +

I don't have a p3 yet, I'm still enjoying my v1.1.1. but my buddy does have the P3P and has for a couple of weeks, he's told me that the auto take off on his asus pad doesn't work even though he's tried it a few times and today when he was on RTH, at 6ft above his head tried to stop it so he could hand catch it but the p3p still kept coming down so then he gave it TH up and still no reaction and the quad just self landed, is this normal???? or has he not set up the app correctly?
as I said I don't have a P3 yet so not having the dji go I can't answer him but personally I'd be a bit worried if some things didn't work and wouldn't fly again until I got it sorted
any ideas?

It sounds like your buddy was doing it wrong.

Yes I think your correct.just found an answer in the forum.he had to only use the tablet to auto take off not arm first then press the A,TO I'll let him know.at least when I get my P3 I'll know what not to do.also I spend hours on the DJI forum and I learn a lot.I don't think he has as much free time as me.age has some benefits
