We recently repaired our Phantom 3 Adv after a wreck smashed up the gimbal. We 3d printed a part to hold the camera in a steady state, but removed the gimbal entirely (see photo).
It seems like the gimbal is essential for some of the image transmission as now we are getting no gps signal, image, or photo/video capture control.
Has anyone had success re-mounting the camera without the gimbal? Or does anyone know which part of the gimbal is essential for the image/data transmission? Any information would be appreciated
