Yes worked great however I noticed it was in inactive mode before I tried firmware update

Still, not working, You made me look at the manual.
Inactive is when you have the remote on, and hasn't had a connection for 6 min to the Phantom.
It should also be beeping, to me you need to charge the battery.

This Manuel is so awesome. I get frustrated every time. ;)
It doesn't list your description, so I'm guessing it needs to charged, no sounds, no battery indicator?
It also doesn't state, what if has a connection to a mobile device, does it still time out because of no connection to the Phantom?
I believe it does, and you should have beeping noises.

#1 Does the remote beep, when you turn it on?
#2 What is the status link light button on the Phantom when they are both powered on?
#3 What was your method of updating the firmware on the remote?

Rod

Thank you for you help on this matter!!!!

#1 Remote has no beep when turned on
#2 Link light on drone solid red
#3 I used DJI ASSISTANT to update controller

Controller has no responses on any of switches or toggle of throttle or direction of drone
Plugged in controller to charge battery no charge green light continues to blink also when I use DJI Go app to calibrate controller it gives me a message to return all switches to 0 positions which they are at home positions

"I used DJI ASSISTANT to update controller"
Did you mean DJI-GO?

"Plugged in controller to charge battery no charge green light continues to blink"
You are charging the remote with power switch off?
Rod

Yes DJI GO
and charging with power switch on
DJI go, normal method WiFi? Not by putting a bin file on the SD card.
Charge it with power off, could take 4 or more hours for full, I don't recall, try to use a power supply that rated about 1 amp.
You may need to do a relink, but until it shows some kind of battery level. That is my focus now.

Rod

Got the vid, Yeah, I don't think the buttons do anything with that is would be visible on the remote.

Rod

Added and the second vid,
So your mobile device is connecting to the remotes Wifi?
Did you try the same calibration with the remote powered off?

Ok power off and charging

At least that looks normal. ;)

When its done it will be green, power it on about an hour, see it it beeps, and if battery light comes on.

Rod

ok will do thank you so much
I used the DJI Chat app for support
They wanted videos to determine if controller was defective I bought this in Aug no problems till now

Charge light went from red to green after 20 min I left it on charger for 6 hrs waited 2 hrs then turned on
No change no beeps no battery indicator lights green light blinking

Hey guy, it's toasted.
I really don't know, and it really sucks, if a firmware killed it.

From #9,
Installed firmware, normal method WiFi? (not by putting a bin file on the SD card.)

From #11,
So your mobile device is connecting to the remotes WiFi?
Did you try the same calibration with the remote powered off?

Battery could be bad, but unlikely.
With remote powered off, charger hooked up, when the light is green (charged), Power on remote (with charger still hooked up).
Same, no beeps and no power lights?

All I think off now, look in this thread.
I bricked my p3s with ftp range mod - let's fix it together

Which started from.
Phantom 3 Standard range mod , let's do it together...

These are nothing that I got the patience for, nor I never quite figured out Linux.

A final question, was you updating everything, Phantom and Remote when this failed?

Rod
