P3 Professional 1.6 firmware update issues

It would be helpful if you guys would report back. I'm sure there are others with the same problem lurking here.

Yeah well I struggled with it for 3 days with no luck before signing up here and posting. Still no luck. Interestingly though, during all of this my DJI Go app would say in the "About" screen "Aircraft Unknown, RC Unknown" or something like that when I went to see what version the firmware was. But now when I check it, it says "Aircraft 1.06.004 RC 1.5.7" (or whatever the latest version are - can't look at it at the moment). Still says "No Signal" at the top of the app and no output from the camera.

Same exact problem I posted to ask for help and none yet please report back and hopefully it can help others

Exactly what happened to my p3p after success 1.5.03 firmware update from 1.4.02. Tried everything still with "No signal" at the top. I even try reset the firmware with "service bin file" but failed. My last effort....send it back to DJI & fortunately been given free postage. Hope this help.

You can find DJI's contact information here.

I was able to update the drone.. but my controller does not show an update is required. It won't take an update (never starts) even when plugged in directly to the phantom, when i try a USB stick, just nothing. When I check firmware status.. the drone is now different than the controller. I can't imagine this is ok? I am now 1.6.40 on drone and 1.5.70 on RC..thoughts?

How were you able to update the drone after having the solid red failure?

That sounds like the latest on both your equipment so your good to go
That's kinda what my LHS said too. I guess it's the most likely answer.. But I hadn't been able to find anything that said the drone and tx could be on different firmware versions .. I just assumed they would always update together .. Thanks for the reply [emoji106]

I had a talk with customer service online through a chat window. They said to let it go for 30 minutes and it will update, even with the solid red light. And I had to roll back to 1.5. Then they left.

Let us know if the V1.5 loads correctly after 30mins. I've tried just leaving the P3P going with the V1.6 even after the continuous tone and solid red camera light but nothing changed after about 45mins so I turned it off. Cheers.

It didn't, but I connected to the P3P and it says: App: 2.4.3, Aircraft 1.6.40 and RC 1.5.70. Now I have to feed through my camera....

That's as far as I could get.. Anybody have anything newer on the controller?

"Now I have to feed through your camera"? Do you mean "no feed through your camera"?
I've gotten to that stage too, DJI Go app reports 1.6.40, RC 1.5.70, App 2.4.3, but I get "No Signal" at the top of the app and no feed from the camera. All telemetry seem to work though, just no camera - is that what you're getting?

Yeah that was a typo.

I finally got 1.5 to update, just keep trying it. All appears to be good, I will try and fly tomorrow.

I'm still a little worried about the date though...

Right. Interesting. Meanwhile DJI on their own forums are saying P3s with this problem need to be sent to an authorized repairer. Clearly they have no idea.

So did you leave it with the solid red light and solid tone, or did you just keep restarting it until you got the regular update tones?
