I'm not able to update firm to 1.6 , just makes a constant loading sound and then shows failed when i remove the card and load into computer.

    - have formatted SD card
    - dropping bin file under not inside DCIM folder

any suggestions on what's going wrong with update? Have tried both on MAC and PC and 2 cards.

Try installing the firmware exactly like this. If it still fails then, please post the TXT file from your memory card.

let it beep for a while. Mine was extremely loud too. I put it out in the garage and about 10 minutes later It quit beeping. Rebooted it and it was running the new firmware

Well, trying to upgrade to the V01.06.0040 has BRICKED my P3P. Tried absolutely everything and it fails to update to any firmware version I try. The DJI Go app now says "No Signal" and there is no output from the camera to the iPad.

Good one DJI! You've released a Firmware update that your own app instructs you to update to and it has STUFFED my P3P, which WAS working fine until this!

Okay then, it may not be "stuffed", but it is at the moment. Any ideas anyone?

Try reinstalling it using the instructions in my link above. If that does not work, then post the TXT file from your memory card.

Yes, that's the correct TXT file.

On the last attempt, it looks like you tried to install 1.4. Try installing 1.6 again. Make sure you delete everything on the memory card and download a new BIN from the DJI downloads page. If that does not work, then try using a different memory card.

Hi msinger. Tried that. Formatted card, new BIN, different card. Fails every time - gets about 45secs in, then solid "tone" beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ... solid red light on the front of the camera.

Same problem here. Stays on solid red. I was really needing to have this over the next week. It's not recognizing the date, I even tried to kick it back to 1.4 and 1.5.... Not good.

I have just read on another forum that the "[00041490][08 00][00] device not detected." I am getting on the hidden log file may be due to "I read few of this problem with the P3P camera ... DJI have erroneusly mounted wrong camera mainboards on P3P" and that guy had to send his P3P back to DJI!!!!!

    OMG what a FAILURE DJI!

This error appears in many threads on various forums. It appears it's some kind of hardware issue related to the camera. People either have not followed up on the threads to post their fix or they sent their Phantoms into DJI for repair. Your best bet would probably be to give DJI a call tomorrow. If it's something you can fix yourself, I'm assuming they will clue you in.
