Good morning need some help.

Let me start off by saying I love my DJI drones I am an avid flyer. I have owned two drones. My first drone was a P2 Vision for about 7 month then sold it and bought P3 Advanced. I received the drone around 6/20. The drone was great I was impressed with the camera. Since I received the drone I have flown it 5-7 times with no issues. Saturday 8/22 I flew it in the back yard and was great took some great pictures. Yesterday Sunday 8/23 I took it out again. It was about 4 PM or so I took it out to the back yards I calibrated it and it started to fly with no issues when I was about 100-150 feet in the air it went crazy it took off up and to the sides the iPad said something like compass error it then took a dive and slammed into the ground and destroyed my drone.

I am not a newbie, my back yard is large clear of obstruction it has great GPS signal and I calibrate every flight. Any ideas what could have happen.

Are there any strong radio signals in the area? It might be significant that the problem occurred when well clear of buildings and or trees. Have you always flown in the same location?

Always flown in the same area no radio single that can interfere I live in the middle of no wear.

Well ESP or Motor died that lead to problematic behaviour and crash

I do not know if you have the ability to check if motors work.

???
All the compass calibrations in the world dont help anything unless the end result leads to proper parameters. And the only way to verify that is to look at the compass MOD data under sensors in the menu. It should be very close to 1700. If you dont verify THAT info prior to takeoff then your asking for trouble. A simple calibration is NOT needed. I haven't done a compass cal in months! And install new FW 3 times a week lately. My MOD data is always what it needs to be, so no need to calibrate.

On mine it is 1400-1500 in Switzerland and also in Crete for vacation.
