Having just got my P3 and being the new kid on the block, just wanted to check how often you need to calibrate the IMU and the gimbal. I am also assuming that you only have to calibrate the the sticks on the remote when you are warned to do so? Cheers and have a good day....

I cold-calibrate IMU and also gimbal after a FW update.

I did my last IMU calibration while the AC motor hubs were level using a piece of glass (picture frame or something similar) across all four motors (insert sheets of paper under the landing legs for a perfect horizontal alignment). I think that makes sense because that's where the AC is "standing" on when flying. Make sure gimbal roll is set to zero before doing that.

I calibrate the IMU if the mod values suggest its off and after a long run on a rough road (off the bitumen).

Gimble only if the horizon looks off.
