osprey comes at P4P+

(PLEASE RELOCATE TO P4P IF POSSIBLE, POSTED HERE BY MISTAKE)

Newbie, Begin-Mode, 30+ flights;
along public road by river in rural area,
drone hovering ~50 ft overhead,
?osprey? approached to ~20ft &
simultaneously hovered; I immediately
sent drone down, osprey lost interest...
(thought of Dutch police, drone-attacking eagles)
That's all one can do, right?
Any similar experiences & how they played out...?

If you go below the osprey you are easy target for the bird as he can dive on your quad. I would max climb straight up verticle and get away once high enough. Birds can't fly straight up and it take lots of energy to climb.
