i have a Phantom FC40 with the 5.8 GHZ. Radio. I am currently using a SJ4000 wifi camera that I link to with my IPad. The signal is better than the FC40 camera ,but after around 150 foot away it drops. I am mostly interested in filming our adventures while camping so long range FPV is not needed..yet.. but I would like to see what the camera is pointing at.
Looking around I see lots of 5.8 transmitter setups but I know I can't use them because the Phantom uses that frequency .
What would be the other options? 1.3 ,or 2.4? Or maybe a wifi repeater for the camera?

I ordered a 1.2 MHz transmitter and receiver ,a Seetec monitor and a mini camera. Everything came in except the camera. It will be here in the morning,I like me some Amazon Prime. The transmitter was getting real hot even in its case. I removed the case and useless heat sink and used a copper heat sink from an old computer. It's much cooler and lighter than before. I need to trim the heat sink a little before I mount it. I have the transmitter hooked to a TV video output inside the house. I took the receiver and monitor outside and started walking,3 houses away and it was still working great. :D
