How much would it cost to buy or build a goggle system that would reach one mile? Would my phantom even make it a mile with it right out of the box?

    Thanks

Are you losing video or control first?

My Phantom 2 recently flew to 1430 meters, 75 meter altitude using patch antenna on black pearl and video began to get scratchy but still very useable. Was careful to keep receiver antenna aimed at the quad but at that distance there was still plenty angle of reception so I did not have to worry about the aiming that precisely. Later I went to google maps and used it to check distance from point of takeoff to point of turnaround and was it measured almost the same as shown on IOSD! Pretty slick! I found a small lake and subdivision I didn't know existed! Returned at top speed when battery level was down to 45% but still landed with 30%. Gotta love it.
