Glued to my police scanner feeds, watching this nightmare unfold. In the middle of it all, the FAA issues a NOTAM over Ferguson? No media choppers, no commercial flights, no anything.

    Unprecedented?

Probably a good thing. People firing off hundreds of rounds, having a media or private helicopter flying over that would not be a good deal. That being said, if they do get one shot down, please crash land it on a crowd of looters. ;)

They're unable to convert UTC to Missouri's time zone.

That's because time travel back to the 1800's is not possible...yet. Once DJI figures out that one, I'm sure the FAA will somehow regulate it.

Makes perfect sense. Pretty exceptional activity going on there at the moment. Someone has to coordinate police, national guard and news copters.

I think the police have more on their hands than to worry about people flying toy drones. ;)
