No longer shooting hi-res-- poof-- gone

I shot a video, came out perfect. Next video, I'm getting MAYBE 720p. All sharpness gone
Looks like crap.
What the hell happened?
I called a repair company, and they said, "You can send it in, but we'll end up replacing the camera.
It's fairly new, no crashes.

Did you double check what resolution you have set in the camera settings?

We can't possibly know what the "heck" happened unless you provide more details about your setup and what happened before and after this occurred.

Honestly, nothing happened. Went from high-res to crap between shoots. Could it have changed "just like that?" If I plug it into my computer, is there a way to check and see if the resolution setting-- even though I didn't change anything between shoots? (I'm a technology caveman)
