NIMH batteries in stock transmitter

It takes 5 NIMH batteries in series to equal the voltage of the 4 standard batteries used in the stock transmitter. Has anyone come up with an elegant way to mount 5 batteries in the transmitter? I really would like to use rechargeable batteries, but am fearful of the reduced transmitter power with the lower voltage of the NIMH batteries.

Batteries in 2.4 transmitters last sooooo long anyway I stick with good-quality Alkaline batteries..

I'm using NiMh in mine without any issues.

I had a flyaway while using only 4 NIMH. I think the cause was not recalibrating the compass when I should have, but I don't want to take any chances with the replacement.
