Hi, as you can guess I am new in here. Lots of interesting posts. I'm still to fly, but I have been reading a lot on here, perhaps too much.

Anyway, my question is, how do I connect my iPhone 6 to my transmitter on my Phantom 3 Standard? In the instructions you use the phones wifi and the DJI Go app, but I have read about flying with the phone in airplane mode!!

I am already connected with wifi and working.

Airplane mode will render my connection unusable, unless you connect the transmitter with a cable.

Is this possible on the Phantom 3 Standard? Or is it just on the Advance and Pro?

Thanks

1. Turn on Airplane Mode (to prevent phone calls/texts from interrupting your flight)
2. Turn on WiFi (separate from Airplane mode)
3. Connect to P3S
4.Fly

You can still fly in airplane mode if you'd like. After enabling airplane mode, go into the Settings on your iPhone and turn on Wi-Fi. It'll still work even while in airplane mode.

Only the P3P and P3A can connect to the remote controller with a cable.
