Newbie - advice on camera

Hi,

I have been looking at getting a Phantom for some time now, and my lovely wife has bought me a Phantom 2 for my birthday, so . . . . .

What camera would you people recommend ?

In answer to the obvious questions, I want to shoot general aerial shots, of a reasonable quality ( visualise me wanting to be up there, looking down ?) Good quality footage is probably the most important thing I guess. I will be using a gimball mount ( probably Zenmuse H3-3D Gimbal ) unless anyone has a better suggestion. Not too worried about FPV at this stage, but would like to be able to control camera from a smartphone.

So . . . . GoPro 3, 3+, white, silver or black ?

Or any other camera options for my needs as outlined above ?

GoPro and Zenmuse is a good combination. You gotta decide your self which model as there is quite a price difference and spec. Before too long I would reckon you'll want FPV! I would go for the best GoPro you can afford. There is now the GoPro 4 available too.
