What this story fails to mention is the height of the drone These planes were 8-13 miles out from the airport, so outside the five mile restriction. These planes were at 2,000 - 3,000 ft altitude. If the drone was 400' off the ground, then it was being flown within the rules. Funny how they didn't mention at what distance the drone was.
Really bothers me how frequently the media is reporting all these alleged drone sightings. And then of course show a picture of a Phantom making it synonymous with the word "Drone"

I bet they also saw cars on the road, birds in the air, and probably even clouds! smh

In another article reporting the same sightings, the drone was reported to be at 3000 feet, red in color, between 8 and 13 miles out from the airport.

With DJI having something like 70% market share, showing a Phantom as a typical drone doesn't surprise me.
