I got my dbs installed in the wee hours of the night last night and went for some test flights today. The range truly is outstanding.....until......"Connection Lost!". I wait patiently for RTH to kick in and nothing. I take a few deep breaths and move the rc all around until I find a signal. I hit RTH and all is good. I've done this twice today. Tonight, I pull the card from the camera and I find that the video stopped recording at the same time that I lost connection and restarted a new video once connection was restored. This has me VERY concerned. Opened up the rc and all connections are good and very solid. It would seem that I fly past the point of no return with no warning. Not sure what would happen if rth did not kick in and I could not reconnect.

sounds like your wifi connection was lost which the video link uses, not your RC connection if RTH signal reached it.
which means you should still be able to control the craft even if you can't see it.

Why did the AC video stop and restart? Also the flight log shows numerous Mode Changed to GPS Atti numerous times? Do I have a controller issue?

Just opened it back up and tripple checked the connections. All looks good. I wouldn't have suspected an antenna issue. I'm getting considerably more range in this urban area than I have ever gotten before. What makes it switch to atti mode besides the switch? Nice clear night. Now, I am flying over areas that I previously could not reach. Possible interference?

loss of satellites signal makes it drop out to atti mode.

Ok, what would make the ac video stop recording and restart? The only thing I have not done.......and should have, was to restart my phone pre-flight. Just thinking that may be the problem.

Yup. A ton of apps running in the background can cause all kinds of problems. That's why I bought a tablet that ONLY gets used for my P3. Don't want Mom calling to talk about her cat when you're right in the middle of a 12,000 foot distance run.
