I get my P2V+ today and very excited! especially about using Ground Station. But I keep seeing articles saying Ground Station costs $200. What's confusing me is that I got for free when i downloaded the DJI app. Is mine just a trial version? Will it not work when the P2 arrives? Very confused.

    DJI sell the full version.
You get a limited version in the app and another 3rd party app removes some limitations.

Where do I find the full version? How is it different from the limited because the limited seems pretty good.

The full version will not work with your stock phantom - you'll need to purchase additional hardware and mod your bird to work with it. The full version comes in a PC and iPad version which are described here:

    http://www.dji.com/product/pc-ground-station
    http://www.dji.com/product/ipad-ground-station

The ground station that works with the stock PV2+ is part of the DJI Vision App and is described here:

    http://www.dji.com/product/phantom-2-vision-plus/faq

What makes it confusing is that both the stand-alone and DJI Vision app versions are called ground station, yet they are both different beasts. Hope this helps and clears up any confusion.

Please dont hate me for saying this but I recommend becoming a good pilot prior to using GS. If something unexpected happens you might not have the abilities to recover. I do understand your need but we read story after story here of things going wrong.

Have you completed all the training that DJI recommends and includes instructions fôr? Good luck and happy flying!
