Surely there'll be a privacy button which would stop other users from seeing your location / distance from them etc? I mean if you're at home and open the app??

Well, this is an English "Google Translation" of their Chinese iTunes page and there's nothing about privacy. The App appears to be more about selling you stuff. To me it's about as useful as a handbrake on a canoe.
