Need help, Go Pro is not working right

EDIT:
Nope, not waterproof without a housing, it's just in my mind.

Well on test flight #1
Samsung Evo 64 with interference board wires corrected, I got about 100 photos and maybe 7 minutes video before the camera crashed. (1080/30/M with photo every 5 sec.) Video not corrupted.
Edit: No tape trick.

Better.

Try the next test with a new Go Pro battery that I borrowed.

That's a great picture. Looks like you don't have to worry about getting water in your camera... :)

If the camera works on the bench and not out in -20F, I think you have your answer. The battery is probably pooping itself. Amazed the P2 is holding up in those conditions!

The new battery fared the same as the old battery, 1080/30/M with 5 sec. photo,100 photos and about 7 minutes of video before camera crash.
Oh, the temp right now is +25F

It was about a month ago when I flew it in these temps.(-20)
The P2 worked well. Ran it around for about 13 minutes, (on each (warm) battery), and shut it off with 2 bars on the battery. I was most worried about the motors on the gimble.

Next test, try to film on Phantom power only, Go Pro battery reversed.

Nice,
Did you guys put all the trees away for the Winter?

Ya, there are not any trees around here. The soil is to acidic.

So test #3
Phantom powered Go Pro w/o Go Pro battery.

About 4 minutes of film time.

Boo.

Last test.
Go Pro not connected, via USB, to phantom.

Dam, Go Pro disconnected from phantom using a new Go Pro battery..
50 photos and a corrupted video/crash.

So it seems like the problem lies with the camera, I guess.
A known working sd card (from another Go Pro), was also crashing too.

A fun experiment, I guess.

Been searching for a quick replacement while the B3+ is RMA'ed

I'm looking at a white 3, manufactured, $130

or a used black 3+ at $215

What would you get?

Get the black for all the additional features... You won't regret it. Then when your warranty cam comes back use one one a headband to catch the action from your view.

Download the GoPro hero 3+ black manual. The 3+black for 215.00 is a very good price even if it's only for the camera.

That B3+ that I was looking at, is sold. :(

I went ahead and ordered the White 3. $139. Everything else I found was out of my price range, as I have been off work for about 3 months now. Got to eat, lol

But gonna get the Lexar 633x sd card too.
Don't know if I should get two 32GB or one 64GB. About the same price.
Thinking two 32's would be better, in case one fails.
What do you guys think?

Thanks!

Check the specs on the White and see if it requires that fast of a card. You may get away with a cheaper Lexar 600.
I would get the one bigger card over two. Future proof it. I hate the 16gb cards I have as they are too small. You'll soon say that about 32gb. I would choose the 64gb if it were me, but if you have had bad luck with quality cards in the past you may want two 32gb cards.

Well the White 3 still has not shown up yet.
But the RMA'ed 3+black has.
Put a new Lexar 633 in it.
Works perfect.

YA!

Thanks for all the advice guys!
