I lost control and had to crash it in some weeds. No damage luckily. GPS (9 satellites) said safe to fly, but it keep saying atti mode.....but it wasn't in atti as far as I could see. Any thoughts? P.S It was a new location, but I calibrated compass. Went to my regular location after that and it flew fine.

It sounds like a potential compass issue. If you review your TXT/DAT flight log, you will have more details on what happened.
