I look for every chance I can get to film an event and have been fortunate to be able to film even in the dead of winter. When it is too windy, I switch to a hand held backup rather than not film at all. This past weekend, January 25-26, 2014 was a day that will be remembered in history as the weekend of the Polar Vortex. Watch the Waconia Ride 2014 and you'll see just what a Polar Vortex looks like.
The US Pond Hockey Championships the week before was perfect flying. 39 degrees, sunny and no wind.
