Just getting started, but I imagine I want the camera to look straight down, not forward. At least sometimes. The mount doesn't seem to support this. Does anyone else do it?

Is the extra weight of the GoPro waterproof housing a big problem? Seems like it affords much better protection.

I never used the DJI mount, I went straight to a gimbal. But I can say that the extra weight of the waterproof case doesn't make a significant difference to the performance of the Phantom.

Here are wieghts of the GoPro Frame, GoPro housing with waterproof back, Hero3 black with battery and SD card inserted.

I used the housing at first but now use the frame, I use filters on the lens so this gives the lens some protection. The filter and SRP adapter weighs 28g. My FPV TX and antenna weighs only 54g so that even though the weight isnt much every gram needs to be lifted by the motors and this takes energy out of the battery.
