This is true for some instances but it's a pain to do (especially if both threads are lengthy) and only works in a smooth way "some" of the time. Combining threads can be a tedious task trying to keep the thread flowing and making sense. More of then than not it's much quicker and cleaner to just clean house quickly when redundant threads are started.
