Maybe soon we won't need gimbals.
The researchers are still working on it and there will be an app in the windows store that lets us import our own videos for software stabilization
 
Interesting but unless you use a lot of 10X speed video not very useful... yet.

"reducing shake" is very far away from "no shake".

BTW, my Sony Actioncam 100VR reduces shake. As a consequence, the image quality isn't as good as my Gopro even though the Sony has a superior new sensor. And even if you reduce shake, your camera is still pointing at the sky or the ground depending on how you're flying instead of leveling with the horizon.
