Micro USB on Phantom 3 - any other uses?

You know the micro usb port on the Phantom 3? Not the one for the camera, the one covered with the rubber cover.

Does it serve any purpose other than getting flight data off?

Anyone know if it's powered? Would be neat if it could be used for accessories or to drive some LEDs, etc. I wonder if someone will come up with some mods for it...

If that micro usb port is actually powered, would using it to power up LED's reduce flight time, even slightly? That knowledge probably will sway some from using it. Flight lengths are already too short. Just my thoughts.
