Mavic vs phantom 3.

Hi all. New to this forum and drones.
I'd like to get a mavic pro very soon. But the price is up there. I'm not a film maker or any type of pro photographer, I just wanna play around and take some video and pics of what's around and take it on vacations.
Is the phantom 3 ok for me or should I spring for the mavic?

Both are good, but the Mavic is obviously more compact and more portable if you're going to travel with it.

Of course it also matters which Phantom 3 you're considering. The Phantom 3 Standard is the cheapest, but it uses Wi-Fi for the radio and therefore has much more limited range than the Mavic.

Less money , bigger baggage: P3P
More money, lighter baggage: Mavic

There are many more differences but for casual operator, these pointers are good enough

The Phantom 3 is still a great drone. If you want to avoid any issues with Wi-Fi interference, get a P3A or P3P. The benefit of the P3P is that you'll be able to shoot video in 4K.
