Manual setting home point?

Despite what you think you are not setting HL/HP by going from Off (top) to CL (middle).

Going from Off (top) to HL (bottom) is less deterministic and may result is resetting both CL & HL.

Ok..just to make sure...When the bird warms up and the RTH is set automatically that also determines the home lock function. Correct.
RTH activation and it comes back to the gps location that is set. HL switched back and the stick pushed back the bird comes back to the gps location that was set with the RTH..correct?

Read that twice and not quite getting it. When you power up your quad on the ground and have IOC selected in software, you wait for the first set of quick green flashes...that's course lock. Second set of quick green flashes is home point. It's important that you know which direction your quad was facing while recording course lock. If after recording both cl and hl and the quad was pointing in the direction you fly off to, and then you select cl or hl..and pull back on right stick...both will bring it back to you. In order to confirm what is what...start up as normal getting cl and hl green flashes. Say you had it facing north at startup. Fly forward and to the left..west. Home lock will bring it back to you at an angle. Course lock will bring it back straight south no matter where the quad is. Not to you. If the quad is flown behind you..hl brings it back to you. Course lock makes it go south away from you.

^-----Correct-----^ but the 2nd set of flashing green is also the RTH-failsafe GPS position..correct?

The home point position is what the quad sees as the position to come back to if HL is selected with S2 and right stick is pulled back and also the point it wants to return to if a failsafe is in play. The quad could be anywhere around you. If it is behind you and you select hl, it will come back to you. Course lock and right stick back depends on how it was recorded where the quad took off and recorded hl and cl. . If cl was recorded as quad facing north and now the quad is behind you, cl and right stick will make quad go south away from you.
