I've been flying small drones for the past year, but just purchased a P3a which arrives tomorrow so I've been doing a LOT of reading.. I love a product with an active support community, lots of DIY mods, and active development:)

I used to unlock and root and flash my android phone with all kinds of hacked firmware and modified versions of android and the name of that game was not flashing or installing any software from the manufacturer until you knew what it enabled and what it limited and then deciding how to move forward. To some degree it seems that people are doing the same with there P3's with regard to firmware and DJI Go.

When I get my drone tomorrow, what version of firmware and the DJI GO app should I try to maintain and why?

Are there archived versions of the APK's for GO anywhere?

I'm interested in extending the range and reducing interference since I live in a wifi congested area. Are there limitations to enabling the extra channels based on the firmware or app version?

Anything else I should keep in mind?
