I have CS5, so I'm not going to refute the power of Premiere Pro, but I wouldn't go so far as to call Final Cut crap. You have to also consider the disparity in price points.
I edit video for a living (24 years in TV, 38 Emmy awards). FCP X is perfect for blending multiple formats and frame rates, plus the color correction and retiming, and great plug-ins.
Look for Ripple Training and some of the free (YouTube) training videos to learn the interface.
