Lose WiFi when Nexus 7 is too close to controller

Figured out that if the Nexus tablet is too close to the controller I lose connection. That goes for whether it is in a holder or even sitting next to it. It needs to be roughly half a foot or more away to keep a stable signal. If it gets too close and loses signal, it will pick it back up when moved away.

Anyone else seen this? Any ideas what is causing it? My only solutions are to either make an extended tablet holder, or acquire a headset tablet holder. I want to make do with what I have with minimal expense, so buy an iPad or FPV goggles is not an option for now. Later though…

I have a Nexus 7 (2013) no cellular capability. I have not had any loss of connection using the holder on the controller. You might want to try putting some shielding (copper foil/tape or aluminum foil) under the Nexus and experiment a bit, but you might have something else going on with the Nexus (or controller) that is causing the issue.
