Looking to buy an amplifier for my Phantom 2. Need to get some facts straight

Hey Guys,

I have a DJI Phantom 2 Vision Plus with FPVLR Stage 2 and I've been watching a bunch of vids on Youtube about how to increase distance. To my understanding if you want to amplify your wifi range you need the Sunhans or similar 2.4 Amp and if you want to amplify the controllers distance you need the 5.8 amplifier. Do I have my facts straight here? Is there any other crucial info I am not taking into account here for this upgrade?
