Sorry if this has already been answered somewhere. If it has I can't find it.

Is there a way (app or something else) that will capture the flight log data/GPS data to you phone or the on-board Micro SD card? All the information I want is on the Camera page of the phone app. I just want to store it and read it into Google Earth.

    Thanks

I looked at FlyTrex and thought "Why do I need hardware when all the information is sent back to the phone?"

Its an independent system. Your other option is to root your phone and download a screen recording app. The other option is that the phantom will in a future update log all the flight data onto the sd card like a black box function. Dji released it by mistake around 5 weeks ago but took it down after a few hours. I dont think anyone got it to work because it wasn't fully functional.

You don't, but it's the easiest and quickest way.
