Loading maps

I had an iPad mini 4 cellular but never activated cellular data. I always had maps load wherever I went. I returned it for an iPad Pro 9.7 cellular and also did not activate a cellular plan. My maps never load in DGI. The only way to get a map to load is to connect to my cell phone until the map loads. I swear I did not have to do this with my mini.

Should my maps load if I don't have a cellular plan?

They will only load if you cache them in DJI GO in a location where you have an Internet connection.

Is there something special I need to do to cache them? I have been to the same location 3 times and have to keep loading the maps by connecting to my phone hot spot.

Be sure you have the setting in the go app set to cache the maps then just view the area you need when you have a wifi connection to the internet. I look at home before I fly.
