The idea is, say you have your phantom stolen, ive read some stories of that happening, would it be possible or a good idea to have say you can report it stolen on the DJI website (or somewhere) they activate a protocol that allows you to track the phantom viva GPS next time its powered on, or next time its plugged into a computer it sends a message to the website with location. yada yada.
Cell phones have a similar set up and they have this on some cars and laptops

How many are reported stolen and in what time frame?

I was unaware this was such a problem.

I think my quad crashed in your yard does not constitute stolen.

You can buy a tracker. They have their limitations.
