LiPo Balancing

I have searched several times and cannot find the answer that I am looking for, and this surprises me because I would have thought this is basic stuff.

With the Phantom 1, stock batteries, stock charger, I have never gotten a constant green led on the charger. It goes from solid red, to flashing red/green to flashing red/green flashing cell disperse/balancing. I have left the batteries on there during red/green flashing cell disperse/balancing for what feels like too long ~2hrs. How long is too long, should I just leave them until the charger is constant green, even if it takes forever?

Just let it go, if it's balancing, it could take a while if the cells are really out of whack. Plug it in, let it do its thing.

You can buy a cell checker just to see how out of balance your cells really are.
