Light on controller red and no beeps?

I apologize if this is a stupid question. I'm use to a vision+ but just received a pre built phantom 2 with fpv set up. When I turn controller on I don't hear any beeps and the light is red (I'm use to two beeps and a green light on the +). It seems I still have function in the phantom however (can power up motors). Is something wrong?

Naw. LED on the controller is always red on P2nv, no sound.
