Light and dark banding on video in shaded areas

Yesterday's video showed faint light and dark horizontal bands (flickering) in the dark shadow areas when moving from very dark shadow landscape to full sun area (camera pointing in direction of sun).
Camera settings: 1080p, 100 ISO, white balance - sun.

Would a different camera setting avoid this?

Not really: it's probably the light that comes through the propellors of your Phantom.

It's shadows from the propellers crossing the lens. Happens all the time. Need a hood to shade the lens.

I made a sun shade out of some black card and electrical tape. It works well, but you still need to be a little careful not to shoot directly into the sun.
