LED (Pos/Status Lights) Installation

Done a lot of searches, watched many vids on P3 shell replacement yet I still haven't seen how the LED's are installed when you swap them over from the old shell to the new shell. In the factory condition (before removal) they are heat welded in place but appear to pop up easily. I'm waiting on a new shell, so therefore I don't know yet what to expect for installing them into it. I assume there are plastic pins standing that the led panel slips over, then heat weld them in? Anyone able to shed some light on this? Thanks in Advance for your help!
