Has anyone had any experience at launching their Phantom from an aluminium boat?

From what I've seen around the web, people are launching from larger fibre glass boats but I'm concerned launching from inside an ali boat may cause compass and flight problems.

Could hand launching be a safer alternative to get it away from the hull?

Aluminum is a non-ferrous metal. Non-magnetic material. There are times when I wished I had an aluminum magnet...the floor gets farther away every year!

Wow I should've known that haha :? Now as long as the boat doesn't act like a satellite dish and give the GPS false readings I should be safe to launch from the floor in the boat. Thanks for your help

hand launching isn't that hard with two people, I've done it many times. have the non-pilot hold it overhead by the bottoms of the skids and make sure the Phantom is at full throttle (you can easily hear this) before they release. Makes for some fun camera shots actually
